Senior Pastor Christopher E. Harris
Reverend Christopher E. Harris is the Senior Pastor of Flint Hill Baptist of Rock Hill. A Pastor to pastors, Pastor Harris is a true visionary who was an award recipient of the Who’s Who in Young Americans (1998) has been described as a leader among leaders. The importance of obtaining as much education as possible has always been the ministry mantle placed on his life. He is a professional and effective leader with proven ability to enhance the Kingdom of God to reach more souls. Pastor Harris possesses over 20 years of progressive pastoral experience, extensive experience in leading church numerical growth and the powerful ability to lead ministry expansion of the local church.
A native of Washington, D.C., Pastor Harris was born to the late Mr. Andrew Harris and Mrs. Margaret L. Johnson. After graduating from the prestigious Howard D. Woodson Senior High School of Washington, DC in 1983, Pastor Harris continued the pursuit of education at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (North Carolina A&T) on a football scholarship. After accepting the call to gospel ministry in 1986, Pastor Harris began pursuing education for ministry through various sources until he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies (1998) from Charlotte Bible College (formerly known as New Life University) and he further earned a Master of Arts in Divinity (1999) simultaneously matriculating through both programs. Continuing the pursuit of education, Pastor Harris successfully completed the requirements for a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2014.
Pastor Harris was licensed to the gospel ministry (1986) by the First United Missionary Baptist Church of High Point, NC and Ordained by the Mount Peace Missionary Baptist Association (1990) at the request of Salem Missionary Baptist Church of Charlotte, NC. In 1991, the New Vernon Missionary Baptist Church of Bostic, NC initiated a call to the pastorate, where he remained until 1993. In 1993, he accepted the call to the pastorate of Antioch Baptist Church of Granite Quarry, NC, where remained until 1994. In 1994, he accepted the call to the pastorate of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Harrisburg, NC where he remained until 2002. In 2003, Pastor Harris along with his family founded Tabernacle of Praise Baptist Church, where he remained until the church’s sunset in 2011. In 2011, he accepted the call to the pastorate of Saint Paul Baptist Church of Gastonia, where he remained until 2014. In 2014, due to family health issues, Pastor Harris and family united with the Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Charlotte to serve as an associate minister, they remained there until the call to the pastorate of Flint Hill Baptist Church of Rock Hill was accepted. Pastor Harris has been married since 1989 to the former Jade Osborne and they are parents to three children Justin, Caitlin and Cristin.
